Whether you’re a lifelong Trainer or introducing your kids to the world of Pikachu, this park is shaping up to be a must-visit destination. Here’s everything you need to know about PokéPark Kanto!

A New Pokémon Adventure Awaits

PokéPark Kanto isn’t just another theme park. It’s a love letter to Pokémon fans celebrating the franchise’s 30th anniversary in 2026. Located within Yomiuriland, Tokyo’s largest amusement park, the park draws inspiration from the Kanto region, the setting of the original Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green games released in 1996. Unlike temporary Pokémon attractions of the past, this permanent park is designed to evolve with the seasons, offering fresh experiences as Pokémon change with the weather. According to Junichi Masuda, Chief Creative Fellow at The Pokémon Company, the park aims to create a space where “Pokémon are always present” and fans can interact with them in a natural, immersive setting.

Two Immersive Zones: Pokémon Forest and Sedge Town

PokéPark Kanto is divided into two distinct areas, each offering a unique way to experience the Pokémon world:

1. Pokémon Forest This sprawling 500-meter-long wilderness is a nature lover’s dream, featuring hilly paths, tall grass, tunnels, and rocky trails. Trainers can explore diverse terrains and spot Pokémon from Kanto and beyond as they run, battle, and share Berries. With over 600 Pokémon to discover, you might encounter favourites like Pikachu, Bulbasaur, or even rarer species from other regions. The forest is designed to feel alive, with Pokémon interactions changing based on the season or weather, making every visit a new adventure.

2. Sedge Town Step into Sedge Town, a bustling hub where Trainers from around the globe can connect and forge friendships. This vibrant area features the Pokémon Trainers’ Market packed with exclusive merchandise, a Pokémon Center, a Poké Mart, and the iconic Sedge Gym for battling fun. Don’t miss the Pokémon Parade or the stunning Primarina Fountain, a centerpiece perfect for photos and meet-and-greets with Pokémon. Two additional attractions are teased but yet to be revealed, adding to the excitement!

What Makes PokéPark Kanto Special?

- Immersive Storytelling: Every Pokémon in the park has its own story, creating a rich, interactive experience that feels like stepping into the Pokémon games or anime.

- Nature Meets Technology: The outdoor setting blends natural beauty with Pokémon-themed interactivity, offering a fresh take on theme park experiences.

- Global Appeal: Designed to welcome fans from around the world, PokéPark Kanto transcends language and cultural barriers, making it a global gathering spot for Trainers.
