Get ready, Ghibli fans! The ArtScience Museum in Singapore is about to become your dream destination with the debut of The World of Studio Ghibli exhibition. Running from October 4, 2024, to February 2, 2025, this event promises an experience so immersive and magical that it feels like stepping straight into the world of your favourite films.
This is the first-ever Studio Ghibli exhibition in Singapore, and it’s pulling out all the stops for die-hard fans. Spread over 16 large-scale theatrical sets, the exhibition spans 11 of Studio Ghibli’s most iconic films—from Spirited Away (2001) and My Neighbor Totoro (1988) to Princess Mononoke and Howl’s Moving Castle (2004). Imagine taking selfies with Totoro or hopping on the train with No-Face. Yes, the Catbus might just be waiting for you too.
Designed for superfans, this exhibition does more than just showcase stunning visuals. It offers a peek into the creative process behind the beloved films through whimsical art installations and interactive experiences. Expect trick-eye setups, detailed replicas, and a closer look at hand-drawn art that made these movies legendary. You'll even get to visit Kiki’s witch laboratory, or read the letter Satsuki wrote about meeting Totoro. Each piece feels like an intimate glimpse into the worlds you’ve only seen on screen.
Fans of Ghibli’s complex, powerful female protagonists—like San from Princess Mononoke (1997) and Nausicaä from The Valley of the Wind (1984)—will love the exhibition’s focus on the studio’s groundbreaking storytelling and strong, independent characters. Themes of nature, technology, and self-discovery take centre stage here, highlighting Ghibli’s deep connection with both fantasy and reality.
Not only will you get to relive these unforgettable moments, but you’ll also have the chance to shop exclusive Studio Ghibli merchandise—designed especially for the Singapore leg of the tour. Trust us, these souvenirs are must-haves for any true fan.
Ready to be spirited away? Tickets are priced starting from SGD $29 for off-peak days and SGD $39 for weekends. For the true Ghibli fanatics, exclusive pre-sale tickets went live on July 29, with general sales opening August 3 via Klook and Marina Bay Sands box offices.
Whether you’re eager to step into the world of Howl’s Moving Castle or relive the enchanting magic of My Neighbor Totoro, this exhibition is where the extraordinary becomes real.
